| BIBLE STUDY
“The Bible is shallow enough for a child not to drown, yet deep enough for an elephant to swim.” – Saint Augustine
Meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 6-7 pm in the Church Lobby, the Bible Study series is currently walking through the Gospel of John. This group is designed for serious (yet fun) conversation towards spiritual formation. No child care is provided.
“These things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” - John 20:31
|| PRAYER GATHERINGS
“Does prayer change God or change me?” – Philip Yancey
ZOOM GROUP: Meets every Tuesday Evening, starting at 7:30pm.
IN-HOME: Meets on First Wednesdays from 7-8pm in various leaders homes.
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” - Psalm 27:8
||| Amplify Student Ministry
“Do the important, not the impressive.” - Cecilia Chan
AMPLIFY is for all students in grades 6-12. During the month, there are various gatherings, including before-service connection times and Sunday evening youth group. ECHO is held once a month for Amplify students, where they gather together during the sermon to learn and discuss scriptures and culture. Additionally, RESOUND meet-ups are specifically designed for those in grades 10-12 as they prepare to enter adulthood in the upcoming years.
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. - Psalm 86:11
|||| CONNECT GROUPS
“A Christian community is a healing community not because wounds are cured and pains are alleviated, but because wounds and pains become openings or occasions for a new vision.” - Henri Nouwen
Comprising 2-4 people of the same gender, Connect groups meet at various times throughout the week, typically focusing on building relationships, prayer, discussion, and accountability. Every year, we renew the groups in the spring/summer to allow for new connections and a change of environment. Contact office@cornerstonelebanon.com if interested.
He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - Ecclesiastes 3:11
||||| PASTORAL MEETINGS
“To progress in spiritual formation, we need to be enthralled by a vision of life in the Kingdom of God through reliance upon Jesus.” - Dallas Willard
Upon pursuit, Pastors, Elders, and various leaders within the church meet one-on-one, with couples, or with families. The scope and purpose of this ministry ranges from simple household check-ins to connection during crisis to ongoing discipleship and leadership development. God loves to meet with his kids; spiritual formation and direction assist in preparing the way through discernment, counsel, and prayer to connect intimately with the Spirit of Christ and broadly with the Kingdom of God.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2
“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us… to be loved by God, not merely pitied, but delighted in as an artist delights in his work or a parent in a child—it seems impossible, a weight or burden of glory which our thoughts can hardly sustain.
But so it is.”
A.W.Tozer | C.S. Lewis
