Children’s Ministry
Every Sunday we offer a nursery for age zero through kids who are beginning to walk. Two toddler rooms are offered -- one for walkers through two years old and another for three and four year olds. We value worship as a family from a standpoint of example (children learning how to worship by worshipping with their parents) and presence (since Jesus calls us to live as children in the Kingdom, the presence of our kids is important). Each Sunday, parents are released to take their toddlers to their appropriate space for our times of corporate teaching.
Also during the worship gathering, children age five through fifth grade are dismissed to Sunday School. This is a great time of learning and community for our kids where they encounter Jesus through creativity, interaction with Scripture and relationship with great teachers.
If you are visiting with us, be sure to sign your children in and out of these rooms at the appropriate table in the lobby. Also, please be sure to receive your children quickly after the close of the corporate gathering so that our children’s ministry staff can be released.
Student Ministry
At Cornerstone we believe that students (Junior and Senior High) bring just as much to worship as adults. For that reason all students in Junior and Senior High are included in Sunday morning corporate worship gatherings at Cornerstone.
However, we also believe that students worshipping and learning with other students creates an environment through which God is glorified and students are empowered to bring spiritual transformation to their lives and community. For that reason, we encourage all Junior and Senior High students at Cornerstone to become involved in our student ministry program. Student ministry at Cornerstone looks a lot different than traditional youth ministry.
Our church plant, Cornerstone 8th Street, has been called by God to minister to children and young people in our city. It seems He placed us on 8th St. for just this reason. With the Lebanon Middle and High schools both on 8th St. we see hundreds of students pass by the doors of Cornerstone 8th Street each day. Rather than creating another youth group, amid the many that already exist in our city, we have established a Kingdom partnership with another church in our community, Iglesia El Faro.
Iglesia El Faro has a flourishing ministry to Junior and Senior High students in their and our neighborhood. On Thursday nights, students from El Faro, Cornerstone, and Cornerstone 8th St. worship together at Iglesia El Faro. Student ministry leaders from both churches facilitate ministry through games, a meal, worship and teaching. This Kingdom collaborative between churches in the City of Lebanon is a beautiful picture of God’s diverse Kingdom come on Earth.
Our student ministry for junior high meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. while senior high meets every Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Iglesia El Faro, 331 N. 10th St.
