D. Jay Martin
Church Planter (Drexel Hill Church)
D. Jay and Julie Martin have been married for five years and have two young children. Their kids go by the nicknames Coach and Gracie. A typical evening at the Martin house includes good food, lots of giggles, and some event revolving around Coach pretending to be a train. His family is helping to replant Drexel Hill Church of the Brethren in Upper Darby, PA, where he serves as the church pastor.
D. Jay's training is in the fields of Liberal Arts with a focus on Biblical Theology. He is thankful for a God that relates as Father and seeks an increasingly intimate relationship with us.
The movie Chariots of Fire is a favorite of D. Jay's, believing it explores the results of the curse of sin, specifically on manhood, in profound ways.
Through church history, various forms of church polity and structure have been employed. At Cornerstone, we choose to lead according to a structure of elders and deacons. Elders provide spiritual leadership to our Body, giving special attention to vision, teaching, and overall spiritual health of Cornerstone. Deacons provide practical leadership to Cornerstone, giving special attention to ministry, service and care for needs within our Body.
